“e-Marketing K-Wave to Enter into Thai Market”

 

-KITA to share its online marketing know-how with Thailand-

The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim In-ho) signed a MOU for the cooperation of the overseas marketing with the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) in Thailand on May 19. This MOU was requested by the Thai government who wanted to learn the advanced management skills of KITA’s online marketing practice. KITA established the website tradeKorea.com, B2B global e-marketplace, in 2008 and has developed the website to a global level which has attracted 200,000 members with 290,000 page views per day as of last year and has made the confirmed actual deals worth of 41 million dollars.

KITA and the Thai government held a workshop to share know-how along with the signing of the MOU. Through the workshop, KITA introduced the overseas online marketing service and the eBMS system for the buyer-seller matching service and shared the overall service of KITA’s member companies. KITA will support to improve the Thai government’s overseas online marketing infrastructure.

 

In addition, KITA and Thailand’s DITP have agreed to cooperate the convergence of online and offline overseas marketing between the two countries. KITA will support the expansion of the exchanges between the companies in two countries through the O2O marketing cooperation from online to offline by introducing the registered food companies on tradeKorea.com, on the site of the ‘Thaifex 2015,’ the Thailand’s famous international fair, as well as establishing online pavilion.

 

Choi Won-ho, director of e-BIZ Support Center of KITA, who participated in the signing of MOU and the workshop, established the significance of the event by saying “The MOU, which has been signed on the request of the Thai government, is to promote the first bilateral cooperation for the overseas online marketing. KITA will transfer the overseas online marketing know-how to Thailand and actively support Korean SMEs’ strategic entry into the India and ASEAN markets through the convergence of online and offline marketing channel expansion, at the same time.” In particular, Mr. Choi elaborated the plan “On the President’s visit, there are more opportunities for the overseas online marketing to expand into Latin America in which the related infrastructure is insufficient. KITA will try to make this MOU the start of the exports of Korea’s superior overseas online marketing skills and know-how to all over the world.”
