KITA-ebay Jointly Held Global Online Export Strategy Seminar

 The “Global Online Export Strategy” took place at COEX in Samseong-dong on May 8. In the seminar, the participants were able to understand the trends of Cross-Border e-commerce, which is emerging as new distribution way lately and the strategies to take advantage of the overseas direct sales platforms such as Kmall24 and ebay.
 
The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim In-ho) and ebay Korea (CEO, Hyun Gwang-yoon) jointly hosted the seminar and two hundred domestic companies who were interested in making inroads into overseas markets via B2C online shopping malls took part in.   
 
This seminar received positive feedback from the participant as it provided practical contents, including “the recent trends of e-commerce around the world,” “the strategies to use Kmall24, a shopping mall to sell products directly to the overseas consumers run by KITA,” “how to use ebay and ebay Korea’s supports” and “the 5th export star contest”, that were useful for the domestic small companies to use e-commerce for the overseas market. 
 
In particular, for those companies who were struggling to prepare to enter into the overseas market, the seminar provided the contents including KITa’s supports for Kmall24 (translation, logistics, CS, etc) and the success stories of using ebay platform so that the participating companies could easily apply to their business. The CEO Lee Min-geol of ENSCA, who was selected as the ebay export star, made a presentation as a speaker on its B2C export success story as well as the sales knowhow and drew the participants’ positive feedback.
 
KITA established Kmall24, which is the platform to sell products directly to overseas, in order to help Korean small and the medium sized companies’ entry into the global market via B2C. Kmall24 is an one-stop platform, which supports the online accommodation of global open market stores, logistics, CS and trade transition to B2B, for B2C sales directly to overseas. Currently, some 1,200 companies are using the online platform and the major stores are home appliances, kitchen / household goods, sports goods, fashion accessories, cosmetics and food.
 
Choi Won-ho, director of e-Biz Support Center of KITA, said “Now, Coming up with the overseas market entry strategies using online is no longer optional. It is mandatory. Kmall24 will play a role as the test field for entering into overseas B2C market.” He also added “KITA will actively support Korean companies’ entry into the global market by continuously holding seminars in association with the strategically important markets such as Amazon and Rakuten.”
